CarePyre

From the Ashes of Crisis
to Sovereign Infrastructure

A community-owned trust in Pontiac, Michigan, building the connectivity, identity, guidance, and financial protection that crisis takes away first — so it becomes the fuel for a new life, not the end of one.

The Mission

Care is the mission. Pyre is how something new gets built from what crisis burns down.

A crisis can take everything at once — a phone, a stable address, access to benefits, a support network — faster than any single organization can replace it alone. CarePyre exists to build the infrastructure underneath that response: real, owned connectivity, identity, guidance, and protection, built directly with the people who need it and alongside the community organizations, congregations, and nonprofits already doing this work every day. We're not here to replace that work — we're here to bring it forward, so a crisis becomes the ignition point for a sovereign, self-determined life.

"The Pyre is the holy fire from which something is reborn out of its own ashes — not destroyed by the crisis, built by it."

Four layers, built to stay with you when everything else gets cut off.

Crisis response and community care already do enormous good — what's often missing is the infrastructure underneath it: the phone number that survives a shut-off, the identity that survives a lost wallet, the guidance that survives a confusing form. CarePyre's stack is built to close exactly that gap, alongside the organizations already doing the work.

LAYER 1

Community Telecom Mesh

Local, un-cancellable wireless connectivity — so losing a phone bill never means losing contact with the world.

LAYER 2

Autonomous Identity

A permanent digital identity and inbox that stays yours — not tied to a job, a carrier, or a bank account that can disappear.

LAYER 3

Human-Centered AI Navigation

Local AI tools that help people understand leases, benefits, and paperwork in plain language — real navigation, not a hotline.

LAYER 4

Sovereign Finance & Life Protection

Real financial protection and estate planning tools — so the gains one generation builds actually reach the next one.

How It's Built

Owned by the people it serves, built to last.

CarePyre is organized as a holding trust with two arms — a nonprofit foundation and a worker-owned cooperative — so that value created locally stays local, and so the infrastructure keeps working long after any one grant cycle or program ends. It's built to stand alongside the nonprofits, congregations, and community organizations already serving Pontiac, not apart from them.

We're building the founding board.

Governance, hands-on partnership, and support all matter here — whatever shape your involvement takes.
